What is DPF?

​A Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), also known as FAP on some vehicles, was introduced with the Euro 5 emissions standard in 2009 to reduce soot and particulate emissions from diesel engines.

While effective, DPF systems are well known for becoming blocked or clogged, especially on vehicles used for short journeys or urban driving. Common issues include DPF warning lights, reduced performance, limp mode, and costly repair bills.
