How does a remap work?
ECU remapping, also known as car tuning, is a quick and cost-effective way to unlock your vehicle’s full potential. The process involves adjusting the software in your car’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to override the manufacturer’s factory settings.
During a remap, key parameters such as fuel pressure, turbo boost, and ignition timing are optimised to improve power, torque, throttle response, and fuel efficiency, all while maintaining engine safety and reliability.
Are your files generic maps?
At Exclusive Remaps, we never use generic map files. Generic maps are designed for similar vehicles, not your specific car, which can lead to unreliable performance and potential engine issues.
All of our remaps are tailor-made for your vehicle. We first read the ECU data from your car, then modify it using specialist software, before rewriting it safely back to your ECU. This ensures your vehicle achieves maximum power, torque, and efficiency, without compromising reliability.

Is a remap legal?
Yes! ECU remapping is completely legal. It simply involves updating your vehicle’s software to unlock its true performance potential without altering any physical components. With a professional remap, your car can achieve improved power, torque, and efficiency, all while remaining fully road-legal.
Will my car fail MOT due to the Remap?
A professional ECU remap will not cause your car to fail its MOT, as it does not increase emissions beyond legal limits.
DPF removal, however, will raise emissions and may cause your vehicle to fail an MOT, so DPF delete solutions are reserved for off-road and motorsport use only.
do you offer any warranty?
At Exclusive Remaps, we provide a lifetime warranty on our remap software. This covers any issues directly related to the software, giving you peace of mind after your ECU tuning.
Please note: if your remap is removed during a manufacturer service, a reinstallation charge of £100 applies to safely write the remap back to your vehicle.
Can you undo a Remap?
At Exclusive Remaps, we can restore your vehicle back to its original factory settings at any time. This service ensures your car returns to standard specification safely and professionally.
A restoration fee of £100 applies for reprogramming the ECU back to stock.
